It’s a Little Flaky *New Kit and Add-On* at SSD

I have two new products for you today on this Sweet Saturday.  I have made a winter kit called “It’s a Little Flaky” and also made an adorable add-on for it that is part of SSD’s Quarterly Assortment (also new today).

The kit is priced lower than usual since there aren’t quite as many elements in it as I usually make for a kit.  Actually I meant to price it at $5.50, but I was very tired when I entered it in the store last night and I priced it at ONLY $4.50.  My mistake… and you benefit!!  Remember all new releases are 20% off today… so you will save even more!

And some inspiration from Eva’s Divas!  Yet again they have brought some diva magic and have created some gorgeous pages!  What a fabulous group of girls!

All Wrapped Up Page Kit
All Dotted & Glittery Paper Pack

I am gonna shake things up a bit this week and change the order of my images.  Aren’t I the daring one?  LOL  A little change here and there is good for you, plus I wanted to show off this absolutely stunning layout by Fairon!  She is using both my new kit and the new set of papers in this layout.  I love everything about it, but the curves of the papers at the top and bottom really made me notice her page.  I also love all of the strips of patterned papers she used.  What a fabulous page!  Congratulations, Fairon!!  CLICK HERE to be taken directly to Fairon’s gallery at Sweet Shoppe Designs!  You will be drooling I promise you!  She is sooooo very talented.

How about some inspiration from Eva’s Divas?  I don’t have a ton of layouts because I was rushing at the last minute to try to finish this kit to release in time.  But my fabulous divas still came up with quite a variety of layouts for you to drool over!  CLICK HERE to go to the section of the gallery at Sweet Shoppe Designs to check out all of the layouts and projects made with my designs.

Hybrid Gift Holder

I came across this cute little holiday helper.  A hybrid gift holder.  The main part of this project is a cute little box that you can use to hold lots and lots of different things.  I used it as a hot cocoa holder for a teacher’s thank you gift – but trust me…this could be your holiday life saver!!!

Supplies:

Getting Fresh by Eva Kipler

White Light Weight and Cardstock weight paper

Colored cardstock to match project

Trimmer with scoring blade

Double stick tape

Hot cocoa packets

Scissors

Ribbon

Color Printer

Corner Rounder

High Backed Box Directions

1.      Prepare the back piece, accent wrap around, decorations and cocoa wrap around in your photo editing software using the following sizes .  Clip from your favorite papers and then paste on to one master 8.5×11” printing sheet.

Back piece –3 ¾” x 5 ¼”

Front Wrap Around – 2” x 8”

Cocoa Wrappers (4) – 1 ¼  x 8”

Optional – additional decorations (mine are the bird, text box for front of box and 4 circles for the front of the cocoa packets.)

Here is how my sheet was laid out so that all the non-optional pieces printed together on light weight paper.  I printed my optional pieces on cardstock to they would be a bit stronger.

 2.      Score your cardstock for folding and cutting.  Using a paper trimmer with a scoring blade turn your paper so the 8.5” side is going through the score/trim area.  Score at ¼”, 2 ¼”, 6 ¼” and 8 ¼”.  Turn paper so that 10” side is going through the score/trim area.  Trim off 1 inch from the end.  Then score at 5 ½” and 7 ½”.

Here is a picture of where all the score lines go – I’ve added pink pencil to the lines so they stand out.

3.      Cutting – starting at the 2 ¼” score line, cut up to the 5 ½” horizontal score line.  You will be removing a 2 ¼” x 5 ½” piece of cardstock.   Repeat step on the right side of the paper so it looks like this below.

4.      Use a corner rounder to round the back of the box you just created in step 3.

 5.      Fold the box as shown in the picture.  Apply back panel to inside of box as pictured.  Flip box over and apply the decorative front panel to the box as pictured.

6.      Assemble box using double stick tape.  Add your decorations to the front panel and it’s complete!

Cocoa Wrappers

  1. Cut a piece of color cardstock in to two 3 ¾” x 10” pieces.
  2. Score at 5” on the 10” side.
  3. On one of the smaller ends of the cut piece punch out ½ a 1 ½” circle.
  4. Fold the paper in half and insert cocoa packet inside.
  5. Wrap the cocoa wrapper around the packet and secure on the back.
  6. Decorate the front of the wrapper and add some ribbon to the top of the cocoa packet (I stapled on some yellow ribbon).
  7. Tuck your cocoa packets into the box and your ready to give your gift. The box will hold 4 packets of cocoa.

Sweet Saturday! Happy iDSD! Lots of goodies and a 30% off Sale!

I have quite a few new things this week.  First off I had the pleasure of working with Traci Reed for the first time this past week.  Together we made a fabulous kit called What I Like About Me.  It can be used for “All About Me” pages or pages about any individual.  There are TONS of fabulous ellies, 4 different colors of the gorgeous alpha, 12 patterned papers, and 8 solids papers.

Next up I have my 2010 Calendar Sets in the store!  I know many of you wait for my calendar pages and now the wait is over!  This year instead of just doing the “toppers” I also did a CD Album Version and a fabulous Jack Chipboard Album Version (designed to fit Cosmo Cricket’s Jack Chipboard Album).

Wait until you see what my team came up with using my new Scoop with Traci!!  I love all of them, but for the Pick of the Week I had to choose just one!  I chose this one by Heather because of her journaling, the clustering under the photo, and those darling buttons in the top corner.  What a fabulous page!!  You can visit Heather’s Gallery at SSD to see more of her awesome layouts!

Eeeenspiration!

Hi there, Annie here… Eva’s newest Diva.  Though I think being called a Diva may get to my head at some point and cause a debilitating phobia of computers and scrapbooking.  But I’ll chew that food when it’s served.

I am here today to inspire you.  Eva said I couldn’t use her blog to inspire you to vote for me in 2012 though, so I guess I’ll have to dish out some scrapping inspiration instead.  Hey, anything for the team.

My FAVORITE kit by Eva is “It’s All Good”… I love everything about it but especially the warm, snuggly color palette.  It’s perfect for fall pics, if you ask me (not that you did).  So let’s take a gander:
