I am sure that many of you were just in love with Eva’s release last week Warm Your Heart–a scoop with Julie Billingsley. Personally, I love word art and I often let that be my inspiration for the direction that I want my layout to go in. So, when I saw the word art Thankful for the Little Things, I immediately thought of how often the little things in life are really the important and bigger things. When my twin boys were born, we were living in France and my parents were in the States and so there was no family at the hospital waiting outside the door, anxious to hear their first cries, etc. Our friends were there, but those are the moments that you really want your family along as well. Anyway, I have always loved this sweet picture of my mom holding one of my boys and I thought this kit was a perfect fit to scrap it with.

Every time I release a new kit I always admire the creativity that my Creative Team has! They are all so very talented! Most weeks I choose one layout as my favorite for the week (once in a while I just get too busy).
This week I have chosen a stunning layout by Priscilla which showcases my newest kit (Warm Your Heart by Eva Kipler and Julie Billingsley). I love this layout for lots of reasons, but most of all I admire Priscilla’s creativity with her use of elements and papers. Just look how she used ribbons to frame her photo! I love that! Hey all!! I was sitting here thinking about what to do for my blog post and I wanted to high light an older kit of Eva’s that I absolutely adore. “Getting Fresh” has such a great color combo and it’s perfect for this time of year, with fall, Halloween, Thanksgivng. It is really perfect for so many different page themes.

Diva Suzann here to spotlight one of Eva’s Fabulous kits—Getting Fresh! This is one of my favorite kits, and it is filled with awesome paper and fun elements. I especially love the alpha in this kit. And Getting Fresh has the perfect colors for Fall.

Looking for a way to give small gifts away? Why don’t you put it in this rectangle thin box! It’s very easy to make and It looks so neat!
What you have to do is download this template i created, print the template on a card stock with the other side of the cardstock being the patterned/colored paper. Cut and score as instructed on the template, et voila! You can decorate it using ribbons or create a band to hold the box, but plainly it would be nice too.

So often as digiscrappers we buy templates and tools to help us create our layouts but only use them on a few layouts here and there and then forget we have the product. Today I want to challenge you to take a look at those tools you haven’t picked up in a while and use them in a different way.
Eva not only offers digital kits; she also has a great collection called Clip Me! that let’s you use squares, circles and scallops to add unique designs to your layouts. It’s easy to look at these tools as simple clipping masks, however, with a little bit of creativity you can find new ways to use tools to add some spice to your memories.
Eva’s Clip Me! Round Shapes
Get creative like Leila – She used a circle to crop out the Clip Me! Round Shapes to use as an accent behind the photo. What a great way to make a visual pop on any layout and super easy to do!
Eva’s Clip Me! Square Shapes
Cut it up! Becky cut up the squares and arranged them around her page for more movement and visual interest. With the ability to recolor or clip out of any paper this techinque has endless possibilities!
Looking for a way to fill up a background to give more visual focus to your photo? SmallMoments use the larger sized clipping mask as a background pattern. By removing the middle part of the page your eye is naturally drawn in to the dynamic title work and the photo – again an easy way to mix things up!
So how are you going to mix things up? Get out those not so often used Digiscrapping tools and try something new.

I am still on vacation in Santa Fe visiting my parents and really enjoying myself. I thought I would share a few photos that my Mama has taken since my arrival. I have taken a ton, but at the moment I am not able to get them off of the memory card. My Mama’s printer doesn’t take my size cartridge. I may just take them to Kinkos and have them move them from my memory card onto my thumb/flash drive.
Here are a few photos from the Special Shapes Ascension at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. These were taken on October 7, 2009.

Hi Blog Readers!
I am leaving tomorrow (Tuesday, October 6th) for my vacation to Santa Fe. I will be visiting my parents, my brother, and seeing friends that I grew up with. I also purposely chose the dates of my vacation to coincide with the International Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. It is such a fabulous event and so spectacular. I have already packed my good camera and plan on taking loads of cool photos. If you want to check out the website for the Balloon Fiesta it is HERE. My mama and I plan on going to one of the mass ascensions as well as the “special shapes” ascension. Hot air balloons are such a spectacular site.
I will be gone from October 6 – 15. I thought I would be taking my laptop with me, but I do not have room for it. My mama does have a nice desktop computer with DSL so I will definitely have access to the internet. I will be checking my email and will try to check in every once in a while here in the forums.
