I love to make hybrid projects with lots of layers, embellishments and fancy stuff added onto them but sometimes it’s nice to go back to basics, less fuss and do something simple. I also get messages from people saying they would love to try hybrid papercrafting but they don’t have a lot of fancy tools or spare money to buy loads of embellishments. So Jenni and I decided to challenge ourselves to create hybrid projects using only products available from Eva’s store at Sweet Shoppe Designs. Nice and easy I hear you cry – but then I gave the challenge a twist and made Jenni do more work 
when I said we should then step our project up a notch and add some simple and cheap embellishments to the basic projects to show what else you can do.
Jenni made this gorgeous card by resizing the papers and elements in Photoshop first then printing them out
She then cut everything out and assembled them onto her cardblank, by teasing the paper petals between her fingers and thumb she gave the flowers some definition and made them stand off her card base, she also used some double sided sticky foam pads to give extra dimension
The basic card was lovely but Jenni then went on to add some glitter to the centre of the flower and that sweet little butterfly is infact a hairclip!!
I made a ‘hello baby’ card, this is how I made it.
Print all your elements and resized papers onto one or two pieces of paper (if you resize and plan it all in photoshop then you’ll save ink by only printing what you need)
Cut all the pieces out and adhere to a cardblank, to make my tag greeting look more dimensional I didn’t put glue right to the end so it would stick out slightly (run your finger under it to make it curl out a bit)
To take your design further look around for embellishments that you may already have from other hobbies or that won’t break the bank. I added a few buttons which came from my quilting and patchwork days and a length of ribbon which you can pick up really cheaply at haberdashery or craft stores

Suzann here today on Eva’s fab blog! One of my favorite kits is Miss Ladybird’s Tea party. Eva made this collab kit with Libby Weifenbach! I love the papers in this kit, and the elements are all just fabulous! I especially love all the acrylic in this kit. It even has an amazing acrylic alpha! I have two fabulously talented hybrid scrappers on my creative team and I am just in love with everything they create! Not only am I in love… I am a bit jealous that they are so talented. When God was handing out the skills to make things with your hands he simply forgot about me. I have tried a few projects in the past, but have never been able to finish them because I can’t get them to look like I want them to. My half-done projects are pitiful! Seriously… I joke you not.
Have you checked out The Hybrid Chick blog? I have it on my Google Reader and just la la love to see the projects they make not to mention how fabulous the inspiration is! It makes me want to give hybrid scrapping another go! They are having a uber fantastic giveaway from the super talented Jessica Sprague. CLICK HERE to learn more.
