Hello, it’s Andrea here posting from sunny England. Our weather isn’t brilliant even during the summer so we have to make the most of the sunshine whilst we can get it and we’ve had some lovely spring sunshiny days this week. I’ve been out walking our new puppy, clearing up the garden after the winter winds and generally getting lots of fresh air. Time spent outside though means I’m not snuggled up in my craft room making cards and gifts etc. so I need a stock of giftboxes and cards and small gifts that I can just keep in my cupboard for emergencies when I haven’t had time to make anything.
Which brings us on to todays Hybrid blog post. Jenni (Juniper) and I have joined forces today to create some projects to share around the theme of gift packaging. It really isn’t difficult to create gorgeous handmade gift packaging using your digital kits and I always think a gift (even just a small bar of chocolate) if it arrives in a handmade container is an extra special gift.
Jenni has covered a plain round gift box from Ikea with ‘Lil Miss Drama Queen’ papers and trimmed the top with funky fibres. She made the bow from the same papers and used some prima and fabric flowers in the centre for something a little different
I created a box from 2 sheets of 12×12 scrapbook cardstock by scoring and cutting lines at 4 inch intervals across and down the cardstock and then folding each side over and around and fixing with double sided tape. I repeated this for the lid and the base but I reduced the size of the card I used for the base by a quarter inch so that it was slightly smaller than the lid. I cut 5 squares of paper from Miss Ladybirds Tea Party and glued them to the sides and the top and wrapped a ribbon around it, then I printed and cut out a journalling block to use as a tag and added a Prima flower. The box was really simple to make and you could easily make up a few for next time you need to wrap a quick a gift

I will be replying to any emails I have received from you either late today or tomorrow. I tend to stay off the computer for the most part on the weekends to spend more time with my kids.

I have moved the zip files from my own server to MediaFire.
